On April 26 the workshop “Monitoring of air quality in a reasonable city: current state, directions of introduction and perspectives” was held.
This workshop is organized within the framework of the Smurbs project (SMart URBan Solutions for air quality, disasters and city growth) program ERA-PLANET, which is headed by the Institute of Space Research of NAS of Ukraine and Ukraine.
The city of Kiev within the project Smurbs is one of the three pilot cities, within which the decision to create a reasonable city.
Interest in the event showed a wide range of participants-representatives of scientific institutions, specialized departments, ministries, public authorities and public organizations.
During the reports and fruitful discussions questions about data sources for monitoring of air quality (ground sensors and satellite products) were presented, devices and systems of air quality control (both foreign and domestic) were discussed Questions of conformity of domestic systems and devices of European standards.
Air quality monitoring requires the networks of ground sensors, satellite product integration, the consideration of norms and requirements of international standards, and the influence of air quality on human health is difficult to overestimate.
The solution of such a wide range of issues requires fruitful cooperation of representatives of science, public and state authorities.
