Open and satellite technologies: opportunities for journalists

Training “Open and Satellite Technologies: Opportunities for Journalists” was held on May 27 and 29. Prof. Natalia Kussul gave a lecture about the results of the World Bank project “Supporting Transparent Land Use in Ukraine”. The results of remote sensing within the three pilot areas were analyzed, as well as many other interesting issues.

A survey was conducted as part of this training. As a result, everyone was a part of the Earth’s monitoring system from space. It was established which crops in May are yellow in the picture, why machine learning methods so needful, why the fields are round and etc. Identified the causes of deforestation in the Zhytomyr region, and identified the largest agricultural areas in Ukraine.
