The Deep Green Ukraine team won the largest amount of funding in the forum history – UAH 1.4 million for the implementation of a system for monitoring the presence of illegal deforestation based on open data from the State Agency of Forest Resources of Ukraine, the State Land Cadastre and satellite data.

The project was created to preserve forests and, in particular, aims to improve the quality of Sustainable Development Goals – SDG-15 “Life on Land”. The methodology for creating a monitoring system has been developed within the framework of international projects, such as: World Bank “Supporting Transparent Land Governance in Ukraine” and “SMURBS ERA-PLANET” (EU research and innovation programs “Horizon 2020»).
