The first stage of development of Ukrainian-German centers of key competencies

The first stage of development of the Ukrainian-German Centers of Excellence has officially started.

12 projects out of 35 submitted applications were admitted to participate in this stage. Our project of the Center for Artificial Intelligence for Big Data and Telecommunications (AI-aided Data Analysis and Data Transport Infrastructures – AIDA-TI) is among the winners of the first stage of the competition.

Participants of our project

Germany:

1. Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, coordinator: Big Data Transport technologies;

2. Konstanz University: AI technologies and Big Data Visualization.

Ukraine:

1. National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute», coordination in Ukraine (Institute of Telecommunication Systems та Department of Mathematical Modeling and Data Analysis від Institute of Physics and Technology): Data Transport and Data Analysis;

2. Institute of Space Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and SKA of Ukraine: AI technologies for satellite imaging data processing.

We are starting to build a consortium and develop a detailed development plan for our center.

A meeting of the participants of the first stage was held, organized by the Ministry of Education of Germany and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The German Embassy in Kyiv, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the National Research Foundation of Ukraine and the Agency of European Innovations took part in it and offered opportunities for cooperation.

The centers of key competencies being developed under this program should become innovative institutions of a new type in the Ukrainian scientific landscape, built on the basis of German best practices.
