Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has unveiled the AI Research SuperCluster (RSC) supercomputer with artificial intelligence.
The company says that by the end of this year, the supercomputer should become the fastest in the world.
The current version of the AI Research SuperCluster (RSC) consists of 6,080 of the latest Nvidia A100 GPUs. The computer can transmit data at a speed of 200 gigabits per second over the Quantum InfiniBand network.
The RSC platform is equipped with 175 petabytes of storage (one petabyte equals one million gigabytes).
The main goal of the AI Research SuperCluster will be to teach artificial intelligence algorithms to better recognize objects in images and the pronunciation of words in audio files, quickly translate and detect malicious content and misinformation that should not be on social networks.
